Nickel Metal Hydride technology is now the leading rechargeable chemistry available as individual cells and standard battery sizes.
In their standard sizes - AA, AAA, D, C, and 9V - rechargeable NiMH batteries are an excellent alternative to standard alkaline, especially in high power devices such as: digital cameras, digital audio / video, portable communications, and motor driven applications.
It offers compatibility yet improved energy densities over Nickel Cadmium and is thus seen as the environmentally friendly replacement for it.
Diversification of the product portfolio offers further alternatives to traditionally Nickel Cadmium applications (e.g. high temperature and high rate discharge products).
Often overlooked when Lithium Ion is believed to be the required technology.
Available in cylindrical (eg. AA), battery (e.g. 9V) and coin formats.
