Rechargeable Batteries

Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH)
NiMH technology is now the primary rechargeable battery chemistry. It is an excellent alternative to standard alkaline batteries and is available in all of the standard sizes - AA, AAA, D, C, and 9V. NiMH batteries have an impressive perform in high power devices such as digital audio / video, portable communications, digital cameras, and motor driven applications.

Valve regulated lead acid (VRLA)
Lead acid batteries remain a cost effective power solution for larger (over 2Ah) standby systems.

Although a mature technology, several product options have been developed to meet specific market demands (Front Access, Extra High Cyclic, Extra Long Life).

Nickel cadmium
A mature and well understood technology which remains the most cost effective in many applications. Despite being limited by EU Regulations it is still an acceptable solution for power tools, medical applications, emergency lighting and specialist industrial devices.

Non-Rechargeable Batteries

Alkaline
The most popular premium tier, all purpose, portable power technology. The main applications for alkaline batteries are continuous high rate discharge, longer life applications such as wireless devices, infusion pumps, MP3 players, portable video deivces, motorised devices and smoke alarms.

Lithium
Combined high voltage, high energy density, lightweight, long life battery technology. The main applications for standard sized lithium batteries are digital cameras, MP3 players, GPS units and smoke detectors.

Torches

Energizer and Duracell are two of the world's leading suppliers of torches and portable lighting equipment. They have developed ranges of torches specially designed for professional users. H-Squared are a fully authorized distributor of both ranges.

High Intensity LED
Duracell’s latest range of high intensity LED torches, the Daylite range, incorporate “Truebeam” optics to ensure a white, bright, even light with no dark spots. This includes a range of sizes and a powerful new headlight with light output options of 80 or 160 lumens. Designed for professional users, they are not just leading edge LED and optical technology but are also rugged designs, with anodized aluminium construction, weatherproof to IPX4 and able to withstand a 3 metre drop.

Energizer’s range of high intensity LED torches includes an innovative 110 Lumen, metal bodied torch with digital brightness control and AA lithium batteries included.

ATEX torches for use in hazardous environments include an IPX7, 45 Lumen torch with 18 hour runtime and an 80 Lumen headlight.
